|On 15 December 1944, at Twinwood Farm Air Field, not far from London, my
father, Liaison Officer to France at the time, was ''bumped'' (by someone
more important), from a UC-64A ''Norseman'' similar to the one pictured
above, piloted by Flight Officer John Morgan. My father caught a later
flight to Paris, but Lt. Col. Norman F. Baesell, as well as Glenn Miller
and his music, were lost in the English Channel forever on that cold, wet,
miserable day in December during World War II. On 1 January 1945,
